A Note About COVID-19

FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEO
Bruce Dorris, J.D., CFE, CPA

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been personally affected by the coronavirus during this uncertain time. But despite that uncertainty, our purpose remains the same — to provide you with high-quality, gold-standard service and education.

At the ACFE, our members come first. Though the coronavirus has limited activity in many parts of the world, we will be here, whether in person or virtually, to take your calls, answer your questions via online chat and provide you with the education you need. Even with travel and mobility being affected, the ACFE is prepared to be here for you.

As we have seen before in history, fraudsters will always seek to exploit calamity. I’ve seen it happen in the aftermath of natural disasters and after the financial crisis; I am certain it will happen again. We are already learning of fraud scams related to the virus, as mentioned in this recent Fraud Magazine article.

We will continue to provide up-to-date information and resources to address these new fraud schemes and other emerging issues.

As a fraud-fighting community, we are committed to helping you prevent and detect fraud from wherever we are and through whatever means available, no matter what comes our way.

We understand things are still changing and evolving on a daily basis. To help centralize all of the updates and provide one helpful location for relevant resources, we've created a COVID-19 resource page for ACFE members.
