Read MoreIn December, we finished up the latest 90-Day CFE Exam Challenge. Associate members joined the challenge and set a goal to prepare for and earn the CFE credential in 90 days. This is no small feat, and many participants put in hours of study time each week to meet this goal.

This study is based on the 101 cases of occupational fraud from the region that were reported in our 2017 Global Fraud Survey. Collectively, these cases, which accounted for 5% of all cases in our global study, caused a median loss of USD 200,000 and lasted a median 12 months before they were detected.

Janet participated in the first session of the ACFE Mentoring Program, and her mentee was Lisa Smith.
Lisa began her career in computer application development and later pursued a career in investigation after graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice. Lisa runs a small Etsy business, is an avid genealogist and likes to occasionally ride her Harley motorcycle to relieve some stress.
